The problem
A delivery nobody can prove is a delivery you pay for twice.
Most goods in Nigeria move through small shops, kiosks and open markets, served by vans and motorbikes far from any warehouse system.
Proof of delivery lives in WhatsApp chats and paper waybills. When a shop says it got fewer cartons, or says the driver never came, there's no quick way to know who's right.
The cost shows up as written off stock, refunded invoices, lost brand incentives and hours of staff time spent scrolling through photos.
Where retail happens
97%
of national sales in Nigeria go through more than 600,000 small retailers.
Boston Consulting Group, The Future of Traditional Retail in Africa, 30 June 2022Who carries the loss
Distributors and logistics firms. They absorb the short delivery claims, the damaged goods and the drops that never happened.
- Written off stock
- Refunded invoices
- Lost brand incentives
Why WhatsApp isn't proof
Photos get lost, reused, cropped or taken at the wrong place, and nobody has time to check them all.
How it works
Snap. Check. Settle.
Three steps at every drop. The driver only does the first one.

01 · Snap
Snap the drop
At the outlet, the driver takes three to five photos in the Tallyo app: the goods, the signed waybill and the shop front. Blurry or dark photos are caught on the phone, before they're sent.

02 · Check
Tallyo checks it
Tallyo reads the waybill, counts the cartons against the order, looks for damage, and checks the photos were taken fresh, at the right outlet, at a time that fits the route.

03 · Settle
Settle it
You get a verdict with its reasons and an evidence pack. Clean drops are confirmed. Anything odd lands on your dispatcher's screen with the problem marked on the photo.

AI technology
The AI is the checker, not a feature.
Tallyo reads every waybill and looks at every photo, so your team only looks at the drops that need a person.
What it sees
Goods, waybills, stamps, signatures and shop fronts, photographed on ordinary phones in real delivery conditions.
What it checks
Quantities against the waybill and the order, damage, location, time, and whether a photo is new.
How it decides
A document model reads the waybill. A detection model counts cartons and spots damage. An image similarity model compares the shop front with past visits and catches reused photos. Rules bring it all together and decide the verdict, always with reasons.
Why it gets better
Every reviewed delivery teaches the models your products, your outlets and your waybill formats.

Where
Nigeria first, then across Africa.
Drivers already send delivery photos on WhatsApp. Tallyo organises and checks something that already happens, so there's no new hardware and very little for anyone to learn.
Getting started
Up and running on the phones your drivers already carry.
- 1We set Tallyo up for your waybills, your products and your outlets.
- 2Drivers install the app and send their next drop through it.
- 3Dispatch and finance work from the dashboard, with every drop checked.
Trust and privacy
Proof you can trust, privacy you can check.
Proof of delivery touches drivers, shop owners and your customers. Here's how Tallyo treats their data and yours.
Locked down by default
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and role based access keeps admins, dispatchers, drivers, finance and viewers to what they need.
Every decision on the record
A full audit trail of every verdict, approval, rejection and note, with who made it and when.
Drivers aren't tracked
Location is captured only at the moment each delivery photo is taken, never continuously, and the app tells drivers so.
Bystanders stay private
Faces in shop front photos are blurred automatically in exports and evidence packs.
Handled under Nigerian law
Personal data is handled under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Delivery photos and evidence are kept for 24 months by default, then deleted; your contract can set a different period.
Tallyo assists delivery verification. Final decisions on disputes remain with the business.
Read the privacy policy and the terms of use.
